UNDERFLOOR HEATING AND COOLING – THERMAL SOLAR ENERGY

Isofoton signed a collaboration agreement with Uponor, leading Finnish company in Underfloor Heating and Cooling and solutions for transporting fluid within buildings. The agreement was signed with the objective of encouraging the use of Uponor Underfloor Heating and Cooling in homes through the use of Thermal Solar Energy, thereby achieving one of the cleanest and most efficient solutions on the market with respect to energy conservation.

What is Underfloor Heating and Cooling?

Underfloor Heating and Cooling is a system made up of a series of circuits of Uponor PEX pipes built into the floor, through which water circulates, at the temperature necessary to heat or cool through the emission or absorption of heat providing maximum comfort for the user, great versatility of installation in any type of building and sustainable performance.

In winter, the system uses water at a low temperature (around 40º C), making it ideal to work with Thermal Solar Energy, as a satisfactory performance of solar collectors is achieved at these temperatures. The mortar heats up, transferring heat to the pavement by radiation, and the pavement, then in turn, to the place to be heated.

In summer, the system's efficiency reduces the temperature of the rooms from radiation, absorbing the heat and achieving a fresh and healthy environment, providing maximum comfort to the user.

Conservation of energy

Uponor Underfloor Heating and Cooling through Thermal Solar Energy can reach average energetic and economic conservation of around 30%, according to the calculations of Uponor and Isofoton's Technical Departments.
