Commitments
In Isofoton we search for well-being, quality of life and progress for mankind.
A) GLOBAL COMPACT: we adhere to the GLOBAL COMPACT of 2002 answering the United Nations initiative to transform companies into driving forces of progress.
B) UN MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS: in 2004 we committed to support the “UN Millennium Development goals".

OBJECTIVES OF THE UN MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Isofoton firmly supports the UN´s Millenium Development Goals
By 2015 all member nations of the UN have committed to the following targets
1 Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2 Achieve universal primary education
3 Promote gender equality and empower women
4 Reduce child mortality
5 Improve maternal health
6 Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases
7 Ensure Environmental sustainability
8 Develop a global partnership for development

C) ALLIANCE FOR RURAL ELECTRIFICATION (ARE): Mission is to stimulate sustainable development in non-electrified rural areas by encouraging the access to electricity from Renewable Energy sources. The Alliance, on a global level, provides renewable energy solutions to rural populations: nearly 1.6 billion people with no access to energy. The most viable solution in the mid term is via Photovoltaic Solar Energy. Ernesto Macías, Communications and External Affairs General Manager of Isofoton, is the President of the Alliance.

D) ENERGY WITHOUT BORDERS: Isofoton is a member of the governing body of this NGO, whose mission is to supply access to energy services and drinkable water to those who do not have it, or obtain them under precarious conditions, or through inappropriate means.
E) ENERGY SOLIDARITY FOUNDATION: The Energy Solidarity Foundation was established on the 30th September, 2005, in Madrid, as an Isofoton staff initiative, and currently has more than 170 members, nearly 25% of the company´s work force. Funds that have been raised go towards the development of Solar Energy projects in developing countries, such as the Rural Electrification of homes, schools, health centres, etc. These funds are obtained through membership fees and other voluntary contributions, as well as activities and events. With the creation of the Energy Solidarity Foundation, an idea that was in the minds of many of Isofoton´s staff materialised, and finally became a reality at the 2005 Corporate Convention held in Morocco. This Convention had a strong social component, in which Solar Energy installations were developed, giving access to electricity and hot water for the inhabitants of Imidhar, thanks to the efforts of all those who took part in the event. The Foundation has already carried out projects in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Morocco.
