ISOFOTON’S IS-170 MODULE SERIES IS AWARDED IEC 61215 CERTIFICATION FOR SNOW AND ICE LOADS
- Isofoton’s photovoltaic modules in the IS-170 series have passed the tests for international homologation under standard IEC 61215: 2005 ed.2 at the prestigious TÜV-RHEINLAND laboratory.
- This certificate guarantees mechanical load resistance of up to 700 kg per module for snow drifts and ice.
On line with its commitment for on-going improvement of products and processes, Isofoton, a European manufacturer of cells and modules, has taken different samples from the standard production line of the IS-170/24 photovoltaic module series to undergo homologation tests required by standard IEC 61215: 2005 ed.2.0 to guarantee mechanical load resistance of snow drifts and ice on its front side, meaning that the product series is now certified to resist extreme loads of up to 700 kg per module.
During the aforementioned load tests at TÜV laboratories, the most critical conditions required by the standard were applied, with 3 continuous cycles and a maximum load of 5,400 Pa, with satisfactory results in all tests on samples.
Isofoton, a European manufacturer with almost 30 years of experience dealing in photovoltaic module manufacture, has always been aware of the importance of quality in its products and services. For this reason, its photovoltaic modules has been homologated and certified in accordance with applicable international standards for almost 15 years.
This wide experience in module homologation is just one result of the many years’ experience in manufacturing cells and photovoltaic modules, and proof of the company’s mature research and innovation system, endorsed at all times by TÜV-RHEINLAND, one of the most prestigious laboratories in the sector, which, in addition to its role as certifying body, also carries out annual audits on Isofoton’s productive process, verifying that only homologated materials are used in manufacturing process.
Thus, every change in the engineering process, and every new model that joins the Isofoton product range has been tested at the TÜV laboratories in Cologne in accordance with IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 standards. The tests that form part of these standards include behaviour tests and electrical performance of the photovoltaic modules, resistance tests on hot point formation, mechanical load and impact tests, degradation under extreme conditions, and electric safety tests.
Once again, Isofoton’s products have passed the strictest international functional and quality tests, as a result of the entire organisation’s work, focused on total product quality and achieving customers’ complete satisfaction. |
