Our Factory
ISOFOTON’s plant, covering more than 28,000 m2, is located in the Andalusia Technology Park. At the plant’s R&D centre, equipped with the most advanced technology available, our researchers work on projects with three clear objectives: to ensure ongoing improvement of our products, to continually introduce technological innovations in the market, and to remain at the forefront of Europe-wide projects. In 2011, the company implemented a new automated conventional PV module manufacturing line. This line applies the most advanced technology on the market, and is expected to double overall production capacity, making ISOFOTON even more competitive and efficient.
The plant itself, designed and constructed as a “green building,” showcases our photovoltaic technology. The outer walls feature special ceramic grid-connected photovoltaic modules that have been harmoniously integrated into the architectural design. Thermal collectors have been installed on the roof to provide hot water for industrial processes and vacuum tubes for air conditioning. In addition, the skylight comprises grid-connected PV modules. In 2008, the European Association for Renewable Energies recognised the ISOFOTON plant with the Eurosolar "Solar Architecture Projects” award.
