Gambia project. Water supply

PROJECT

At Isofoton, we work with the hope of improving people's quality of life. In 2001, we launched the Gambia Project and, thanks to the collaboration with the European Union, we installed 26 photovoltaic pumping systems and supplied drinking water.

We have now been awarded another project to install 23 photovoltaic pumping systems covering 9 countries across the Sahel region.

As a result of these activities, more than 80,000 people will benefit and gain access to drinking water in isolated areas.

All this led to our selection by the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), through our local distributor Gam-Solar, to install 29 new photovoltaic pumping systems.

The Gambian Government has recently shown its confidence in Isofoton to continue with its Rural Electrification policy in a new project funded by Spain.
